SCITON® Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing
As we age our skin looses its elasticity and fullness. This aging combined with the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants takes it toll on the skin leaving it wrinkled, fatigued, and dotted with “age” spots. A Sciton® erbium laser skin resurfacing procedure can reverse these effects and restore a healthy look to the skin.
An erbium YAG laser beam is scanned across the facial areas to remove a layer of skin in a precise manner without bleeding. The body replaces the old, damaged skin with a fresh, healthy layer. Treatments can range from shallow (which might be appropriate for eliminating fine lines, sun spots and tired-looking skin) to deep (which is often used to improve skin tone/texture and eliminate deep wrinkles, even in difficult areas like upper lip lines and crow’s feet).
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, aka photofacial, is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin. It can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure – called photoaging. You may notice it mostly on your face, neck, hands, or chest. IPL may help if you have red, brown, or splotchy skin.

Sciton Moxi & BBL (Broad Band Light)
The Sciton Moxi & BBL are two complementary treatments to rejuvenate the skin and target discoloration, brown spots (pigment), melasma, red spots, blemishes, fine wrinkles, and improve skin texture on the face, neck, and body.
Moxi
Moxi is a gentle laser for all skin types that refreshes your skin from the inside out. aser energy creates millions of microscopic treatment zones to treat the initial signs of sun damage and aging. Damaged skin is replaced with healthy younger looking skin. Moxi is ideal for texture, discoloration and melasma, fine lines and wrinkles, and melasma. Moxi can be performed any season on any skin type with minimal downtime. Moxi is most effective as a series of three treatments, each spaced one month apart. Results should last 6-9 months.
Recovery: After Moxi treatment, you can expect minor redness, swelling, rough texture, and a warm or sunburn sensation. This usually resolves in 1-2 days.
Broad Band Light (BBL)
BBL targets rosacea, freckles, age spots and blemishes. This is done as a full face treatment (photo facial) or on select stubborn spots, depending upon your needs. Like Moxi, BBL is most effective as a series of several treatments, each spaced one month apart.
Recovery: Following BBL treatment, there may be some redness that will last a few hours. Brown spots will get darker at first before starting to lighten after several days.
Treatment Length: Topical numbing cream is applied for for about 20 minutes before treatment. Treatment with Moxi or BBL alone will then take about 10 minutes. A combined Moxi/BBL treatment takes about 20 minutes. Allow 45 to 60 minutes total per treatment.
Aftercare: Moisturizer will be applied right after treatment. 4 hours later, sunscreen can safely be applied. You will need to avoid sun exposure the day of treatment and be diligent with sunscreen, a hat, and skincare for the week following to maximize treatment effectiveness.
